3’s a trend : The head band

I’ve always been a fan of the headband, especially on those more-than-usual tighter-for-time mornings, you know the ones, where you should really wash your hair, but know that you’ll never  leave the house on time and so you scrape it back hoping no-one will notice that it’s looking a little in need of a shampoo? Well finally, here’s the answer to all your problems. Clever Proenzer Schouler, Fendi and Chanel must have been thinking of those mornings when they sent their models down their A/W 2015 catwalks in up style hair-do’s and headbands. Thank you, you’ve saved us. More images on

Nod to the bob

If the Oscar red carpet is anything to go by, then we should all be rushing out and getting our hair cropped into an awesome long-bob right this minute! Forget about Scarlett’s short back and sides, I mean how many of us can really pull that off anyway, the haircut of the moment is chic, sophisticated and hot – and while you’re at it, make sure you’re styling it to the side!

My ABC’s of NYFW

A/W 2015 #NewYorkfashionweek at a glance It’s awesome that it’s still winter right?* I mean in the kind of way that as the new collections for the neeeeeeext cold season are steaming up the catwalks we can already calculate what we’re adding to our wardrobes now, or what hair, shoe and bag trends we’ll be keeping and which ones we’ll be ditching . As I try (mediocrely) hard to start a capsule wardrobe for myself – um, let’s call this a “work in process” – I’m doing a mini shop in my mind for which items I’ll be buying to add to this slow-in-the-progess capsule wardrobe. A/W 2015 fashion weeks are far from over (roll on the rest of London, on to Milan and finally my home city Paris) to finalise this mini-shop, but for now, here are a few things I’ve noticed from the New York catwalks to wet the wardrobe appetite, and a few street style favourites to give you inspiration right now… * I talk about winter, even though as I write this I’m …

January’s SOS Beauty products

I’m literally covered from head to toe. Beanie, top, sweater, scarf, coat, gloves, socks… hardly an inch of my skin shows, but it’s thirsty for love, care and hydration. These are what I’m using at the moment to moisturise, hydrate, illuminate and prime my skin: Shu uemura depsea water lavender mist:  This morning I woke up to My 4-year-old telling me how lovely I smell, all due to this product! With eight herbal aromas this fine mist leaves the skin feeling hydrated, plus it smells so lovely and fresh. I use it as a toner or just before going to bed – even makes your jimjams smell good! Benefit speed brow: Colours and sets brows in less than 5 seconds. Really, it’s that quick! Dermalogica daily microfoliant: I love this microfoliant, and have used it for years. It’s a powder, add water and you’ve got a gentle exfoliant that removes all the days make-up and city grime. Estée Lauder enlighten even skin stone correcting cream: We’ve heard of BB, CC, DD creams – well this is the …
